The workshops are being conducted by Julia Rogers, a professional gap year advisor and director of EnRoute Consulting. It is a wonderful opportunity aimed at offering the students of Central and Northern Vermont expertise at an affordable price.
Montpelier Session
Dates: Monday evenings: March 7, March 21, April 11 and May 9

Here are the following dates and topics:
March 7: Intro to Planning and Goal Setting
We will go over the different types of programs available to gap year students. We’ll discuss the differences in activity options, levels of independence and locations. Students will share their initial hopes for their gap years and we will focus on narrowing down goals and ideas for individuals.
March 21: Budgeting and Fundraising
In this session we will work on how to fund a gap year. We will discuss the costs associated with taking a gap year and how to make it affordable. Students will also learn fundraising techniques and will come away with an individualized plan of action as to how they will fund their gap year.
April 11: Individual Planning Sessions
By now, students will have learned how to conduct their own research and will come to class with gap year outlines prepared. Students will share their plans with their peers and Julia will spend time with each student individually to review their plans and give advice.
May 9: Finalizing Your Itinerary
Students will use the month of April to finalize their program choices or research more opportunities if need be. Our last session will focus on preparing for their gap year and addressing questions and concerns.We will discuss packing lists, health precautions, travel tips and more.
